حَدَّثَنَا هَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَارِجَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ بْنِ حَلْبَسٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي سَمِعَ خُرَيْمَ بْنَ فَاتِكٍ الْأَسَدِيَّ يَقُولُ
أَهْلُ الشَّامِ سَوْطُ اللهِ فِي الْأَرْضِ يَنْتَقِمُ بِهِمْ مِمَّنْ يَشَاءُ كَيْفَ يَشَاءُ، وَحَرَامٌ عَلَى مُنَافِقِيهِمْ أَنْ يَظْهَرُوا عَلَى مُؤْمِنِيهِمْ، وَلَنْ يَمُوتُوا إِلَّا هَمًّا أَوْ غَيْظًا أَوْ حُزْنًا.

✧ The people of Syria are the whip of Allah on earth; through them He takes vengeance on whom He wills as He wills. It is forbidden for their hypocrites to prevail over their believers, and they will not die except with worry, anger, or grief.
