✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ sent him to Khālid b. Sufyān b. Nubayḥ al-Hudhalī to kill him, for he was gathering forces to fight the Messenger of God ﷺ. He said: I came to him at ʿArafa while he was among his riding camels, and the time for the afternoon prayer had begun. I feared that if there were an encounter between us, it would distract me from the prayer. He said: So I prayed while walking, gesturing with motions. When I reached him, I said: such and such—until he mentioned the hadith. Then he came to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him that he had killed him.
