✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ came out to us for one of the two evening prayers, Zuhr or ʿAsr, carrying al-Hasan or al-Husayn. The Prophet ﷺ came forward and put him down, then said the takbir for prayer and prayed. He made a prostration in the middle of his prayer and prolonged it. He said: I raised my head and there was the boy on the back of the Messenger of God ﷺ while he was prostrating, so I returned to my prostration. When the Messenger of God ﷺ finished the prayer, the people said: 'O Messenger of God, you prostrated in the middle of this prayer of yours a prostration that you prolonged, so we thought that something had happened or that revelation was coming to you.' He said: 'None of that happened, but my son climbed on me, and I disliked to hurry him until he finished his need.'
