✧ "And (he) was one of the companions of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ, who said, 'I came to Medina without having any knowledge about it, so I stayed in Suffah with a man. Between me and him, there was a mound of dates every day. The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ, prayed one day and when he finished, a man from the people of Suffah said, 'O Messenger of Allah, our stomachs are burning from the dates and our garments have torn apart.' So the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ, climbed up and delivered a sermon. He said, 'By Allah, if I had found bread or meat, I would have fed it to you. Indeed, you are about to overtake those who are above you and whoever among you reaches that point will be urged to dismiss and wear similar clothes to the covers of the Kaaba.' He said, 'So I stayed with my companion for eighteen days and nights. We had no food except bark until we came to our brothers from the Ansar who helped us. And the best thing that reached us was this dates.'"
