حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ يَعْنِي التَّيْمِيَّ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ يَعْنِي النَّهْدِيَّ عَنْ قَبِيصَةَ بْنِ مُخَارِقٍ قَالَ

لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ: وَأَنْذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ الأَقْرَبِينَ، انْطَلَقَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى رَضْمَةٍ مِنْ جَبَلٍ فَعَلَا أَعْلَاهَا، ثُمَّ نَادَى أَوْ قَالَ: يَا آلَ عَبْدِ مَنَافَاهُ، إِنِّي نَذِيرٌ، إِنَّ مَثَلِي وَمَثَلَكُمْ كَمَثَلِ رَجُلٍ رَأَى الْعَدُوَّ فَانْطَلَقَ يَرْبَأُ أَهْلَهُ [فَجَعَلَ] يُنَادِي، أَوْ قَالَ: يَهْتِفُ يَا صَبَاحَاهُ

Translation

✧ When it was revealed to the Messenger of God ﷺ: “And warn your closest kindred,” the Messenger of God ﷺ went to a pile of rocks on a mountain and climbed to its highest point, then called out or said: “O Banū ʿAbd Manāfāh, indeed I am a warner. My likeness and your likeness is that of a man who saw the enemy and went to warn his family, [and began] calling out,” or he said: “shouting, ‘O morning!’”
