✧ My father Lababah, about the Prophet ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ
أَنَّهُ فَتَحَ بَابًا فَخَرَجَتْ مِنْهُ حَيَّةٌ، فَأَمَرَ بِقَتْلِهَا، فَقَالَ لَهُ أَبُو لُبَابَةَ: لَا تَفْعَلْ؛ فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَدْ نَهَى عَنْ قَتْلِ الْجِنَّانِ الَّتِي تَكُونُ فِي الْبُيُوتِ
Translation

✧ That he opened a door and a snake came out of it, and he ordered it to be killed. Abu Lubabah said to him: 'Do not do it; for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has forbidden killing the small snakes that are in houses.'
