✧ We pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to hear and obey in our hardship and ease, in our energy and reluctance, and to prefer others over ourselves, and not to dispute authority with its people, and to stand for the truth wherever we are, and not to fear, in Allah, the blame of any blamer.

machine translationYaḥyā b. Saʿīd al-Anṣārī narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. Ibn Lahīʿah narrated it from ʿUbaydullāh b. Abī Jaʿfar, from Yaḥyā b. Saʿīd, from a man of his people, from Abū Hurayrah. Mālik and a group of the memorizers (ḥuffāẓ) who narrated it from Yaḥyā b. Saʿīd contradicted him; they narrated it from Yaḥyā, from ʿUbādah b. al-Walīd b. ʿUbādah b. al-Ṣāmit, from his father, from ʿUbādah, from the Prophet ﷺ, and that is the correct version.
