✧ I came to the Messenger of God ﷺ and said: O Messenger of God, I have praised my Lord, Blessed and Exalted is He, with praises and eulogies, and you as well. So the Messenger of God ﷺ said: Indeed, your Lord, [Blessed] and Exalted is He, loves praise. Bring what you have praised your Lord with. He said: So I began to recite it to him. Then a man came and asked permission to enter: dark-skinned, bald, left-handed, ambidextrous. He said: So the Messenger of God ﷺ asked me to be silent for him. And Abu Salamah described to us how he asked him to be silent. He said: As he did with the cat. So the man entered and spoke for a while, then left. Then I began to recite to him again. Then he returned later, and the Messenger of God ﷺ asked me to be silent for him, and he described him as well. So I said: O Messenger of God, who is this for whom you asked me to be silent? He said: This is a man who does not love falsehood. This is Umar b. al-Khattab.
