✧ He heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say during his march to Khaybar to Amir b. al-Akwa', who was the paternal uncle of Salamah b. Amr b. al-Akwa', and the name of al-Akwa' was Sinan: 'Dismount, O son of al-Akwa', and chant some of your verses for us.' So he dismounted and recited rajaz poetry for the Messenger of God ﷺ, saying: 'By God, had it not been for God, we would not have been guided, nor given charity, nor prayed. We are people who, when others transgress against us, or if they desire fitnah, we refuse. So send down tranquility upon us and make firm our feet when we meet.'
