✧ He narrated to him that he was among those who were building the Kaaba during the pre-Islamic era. He said, "I had a stone that I carved with my own hands and worshipped it besides Allah, the Blessed and the Exalted. Then I would bring the milk of a specific breed of camel that I considered sacred and pour it on the stone. Then a dog would come and lick it, and afterward it would urinate. We continued building until we reached the place of the stone. But no one could see the stone, until it was in the middle of our stones, barely visible from a man's face. They said, 'It is the abdomen of Quraysh that we place.' Others said, 'No, we place it.' So they said, 'Let us settle this by arbitration.' They said, 'The first man who emerges from the narrow pass will make the decision.' Then the Prophet ﷺ came and they said, 'The trustworthy one has come to you.' They handed the stone to him, and he placed it on a cloth. Then he called their tribal leaders, and they held the edges of the cloth with him. And he placed it (the stone) himself ﷺ.
