حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ عَنِ الزُّبَيْدِيِّ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي خِزَامَةَ أَحَدِ بَنِي الْحَارِثِعَنْ أَبِيهِ
أَنَّهُ أَتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَرَأَيْتَ دَوَاءً نَتَدَاوَى بِهِ وَرُقًى نَسْتَرْقِي بِهَا وَتُقًى نَتَّقِيهَا، هَلْ تَرُدُّ ذَلِكَ مِنْ قَدَرِ اللهِ شَيْئًا ؟ قَالَ: فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: ذَلِكَ مِنْ قَدَرِ اللهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى

✧ He came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: “O Messenger of Allah, what do you think of a remedy we treat ourselves with, and incantations we seek cure with, and piety we guard ourselves with? Does that repel anything from the decree of Allah?” He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “That is from the decree of Allah, Blessed and Exalted.”

رواه حماد بن سلمة عن عبد الرحمن بن إسحاق عن الزهري عن أبي خزامة عن رجل من بني سعد بن هذيم عن أبيه و هذا خطأ أخطأ فيه حماد إنما هو الزهري عن أبي خزامة أحد بني سعد عن أبيه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال أبي وأخطأ فيه أيضا سفيان بن عيينة فقال عن الزهري عن ابن أبي خزامة عن أبيه قالا وإنما هو عن أبي خزامة عن أبيه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم
machine translationḤammād b. Salamah narrated it from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Isḥāq, from al-Zuhrī, from Abū Khizāmah, from a man of Banū Saʿd b. Hudhaym, from his father. This is an error that Ḥammād made. Rather, it is from al-Zuhrī, from Abū Khizāmah, one of Banū Saʿd, from his father, from the Prophet ﷺ. My father said: Sufyān b. ʿUyaynah also made an error in it, for he said: from al-Zuhrī, from Ibn Abī Khizāmah, from his father. machine translationAbū Aḥmad al-Zubayrī narrated it from al-Thawrī, from Maʿmar, from al-Zuhrī, from ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb: "I said, O Messenger of God..." But he was mistaken in mentioning ʿUmar.
