حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ قَاسِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ يَعْنِي شَيْبَانَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَنَّ ابْنَ عَابِسٍ الْجُهَنِيَّ قَالَ
يَا ابْنَ عَابِسٍ، أَلَا أُخْبِرُكَ بِأَفْضَلِ مَا تَعَوَّذَ مِنْهُ الْمُتَعَوِّذُونَ ؟ قُلْتُ: بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قَالَ: قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ، و قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ
Translation

✧ “O Ibn ‘Abis, shall I not tell you the best of what those who seek refuge seek refuge with?” I said, “Yes, O Messenger of Allah.” He said, “Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak, and say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind.”
