حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ بَحْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْنَا مِنْ كِتَابِهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ جَابِرٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ
كُنْتُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ جَالِسًا فَقَدَّ قَمِيصَهُ مِنْ جَيْبِهِ حَتَّى أَخْرَجَهُ مِنْ رِجْلَيْهِ، فَنَظَرَ الْقَوْمُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ: إِنِّي أَمَرْتُ بِبُدْنِي الَّتِي بَعَثْتُ بِهَا أَنْ تُقَلَّدَ الْيَوْمَ وَتُشْعَرَ الْيَوْمَ عَلَى مَاءِ كَذَا وَكَذَا، فَلَبِسْتُ قَمِيصًا وَنَسِيتُ فَلَمْ أَكُنْ أُخْرِجُ قَمِيصِي مِنْ رَأْسِي وَكَانَ قَدْ بَعَثَ بِبُدْنِهِ مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ وَأَقَامَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ.

✧ I was sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he tore his shirt from its neck opening until he took it off from his feet. The people looked at the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he said, 'I commanded that the sacrificial camels I sent be garlanded today and marked today at such-and-such a watering place. I put on a shirt and forgot, and I could not take my shirt off over my head.' He had sent his sacrificial camels from Madinah and stayed in Madinah.
