حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ أَخْبَرَنِي جَابِرٌ

أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنْ بَنِي مَخْزُومٍ سَرَقَتْ فَعَاذَتْ بِأُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ حِبِّ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَتَى بِهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ: لَوْ كَانَتْ فَاطِمَةَ لَقَطَعْتُ يَدَهَا، فَقَطَعَهَا.

Translation

✧ A woman from Banu Makhzum stole, and she sought refuge with Usamah b. Zayd, the beloved of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ brought her and said: If it were Fatimah, I would cut off her hand. So he cut it off.
