حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ وَالنَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ يَخْطُبُ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: أَرَكَعْتَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ؟ قَالَ: لَا، قَالَ: فَارْكَعْ.

Translation

✧ A man came while the Prophet ﷺ was on the pulpit on Friday delivering the sermon. The Prophet ﷺ said to him: “Have you prayed two rakʿahs?” He said: “No.” He said: “Then pray.”
