✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would stand and deliver a sermon, praising Allah and extolling Him as He deserves, and would say: 'Whomever Allah guides, none can lead astray, and whomever He leads astray, none can guide. The best speech is the Book of Allah, and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad. The worst of matters are their newly invented ones, and every newly invented matter is an innovation.' When he mentioned the Hour, his cheeks would turn red, his voice would rise, and his anger would intensify, as if he were warning of an army that would attack you morning and evening. 'Whoever leaves wealth, it is for the heirs, and whoever leaves dependents or debt, it is upon me and to me, and I am the guardian of the believers.'

machine translationJaʿfar b. Muḥammad narrates it from his father, and there is disagreement about it from him. Abū Uways, Abū Ḍamrah, ʿAbd al-Wahhāb al-Thaqafī and Yaḥyā b. Sulaymān narrated it from Jaʿfar from Jābir, while Ibn ʿUyaynah transmitted it as a mursal report (irsāl) from Jaʿfar from his father from the Prophet ﷺ. And it is authentic (ṣaḥīḥ) from Jābir.
