✧ Abu Madhkur manumitted a slave of his, called Ya'qub the Copt, as a posthumous manumission. That reached the Prophet ﷺ, and he said: "Does he have property other than him?" They said: "No." He said: "Who will buy him from me?" Nu'aym b. al-Nahham, the son-in-law of Umar b. al-Khattab, bought him for eight hundred. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Spend it on yourself. If there is surplus, then on your family. If there is surplus, then on your relatives. If there is surplus, then here and here and here."
