✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said to me: 'O Jabir, do you have a wife?' I said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Did you marry a previously married woman or a virgin?' I said: 'I married a previously married woman.' He said: 'Why not a young girl?' I said: 'My father was killed with you on such-and-such a day, and he left young daughters. I disliked bringing to them a young girl like one of them, so I married a previously married woman who can delouse their heads and sew their dresses if they tear.' He said: 'The Messenger of God ﷺ said: You have done well in what you chose.'
