✧ While we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in our rows during prayer, the noon prayer or the afternoon prayer, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reached for something, then stepped back, and the people stepped back. When he finished the prayer, Ubayy b. Ka'b said to him: You did something in prayer that you did not do before! He said: Paradise was shown to me with all its flowers and freshness, and I reached for a bunch of grapes from it to bring to you, but I was prevented from it. Had I brought it to you, all between heaven and earth would have eaten from it without diminishing it at all. Then Hell was shown to me. When I felt its scorching heat, I stepped back from it. Most of those I saw in it were women who, if entrusted, betray; if asked, are stingy; and if they ask, are importunate. Husayn said: And if they are given, they are ungrateful. I saw in it Luhayy b. 'Amr dragging his intestines in the Fire. The one most resembling him that I saw was Ma'bad b. Aktham al-Ka'bi. Ma'bad said: O Messenger of Allah, should I fear on account of his resemblance, though he is a father? He said: No, you are a believer and he is an unbeliever. Husayn said: He was the first to lead the Arabs to worship idols. Husayn said: I stepped back from it, and had it not been for that, it would have overwhelmed you.
