حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ
أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ جَابِرًا أَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَوْ كَانَ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِي تَمَنَّى آخَرَ ؟ فَقَالَ جَابِرٌ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: لَوْ كَانَ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِي مِنْ نَخْلٍ تَمَنَّى مِثْلَهُ، ثُمَّ تَمَنَّى مِثْلَهُ حَتَّى يَتَمَنَّى أَوْدِيَةً، وَلَا يَمْلَأُ جَوْفَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ.

✧ He asked Jabir whether the Messenger of God ﷺ said: "If the son of Adam had a valley, he would wish for another." Jabir said: "I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: 'If the son of Adam had a valley of date palms, he would wish for the like of it, then wish for the like of it, until he wishes for valleys, and nothing fills the belly of the son of Adam except dust.'"
