✧ I was among the people most strongly denying intercession, until I met Jabir b. Abdullah and recited to him every verse in which Allah, Mighty and Majestic, mentioned the eternal stay of the people of the Fire. He said: O Talq, do you think you are more knowledgeable of the Book of Allah than I and more knowledgeable of the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ? So I conceded to him and said: No, by Allah, rather you are more knowledgeable of the Book of Allah than I and more knowledgeable of his Sunnah than I. He said: The verses you recited refer to the polytheists as its people, but there are people who committed sins and were punished for them, then they will be brought out. He added, and he pointed with his hands to his ears: May I be deaf if I did not hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: They will come out of the Fire, while we recite what you recite.
