✧ I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say in the year of the Conquest: 'God [Mighty and Majestic] and His Messenger have forbidden the sale of pigs, the sale of dead animals, the sale of wine, and the sale of idols.' A man said: 'O Messenger of God, what do you think about the fats of dead animals, for ships and hides are greased with them, and they are used for lighting?' The Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'May God fight the Jews! When God forbade their fats, they took it and melted it, then sold it, and consumed its price.'
