✧ Whoever of you fears that he will not stand at the end of the night, let him pray witr at the beginning of the night, then sleep. And whoever of you hopes to stand at the end of the night, let him pray witr at the end of the night, for the recitation at the end of the night is witnessed, and that is better.

- Dāraquṭnī
machine translationIt was also narrated from Jābir, from ʿĀʾishah, as a raised report (marfūʿ), but the correct view is to omit ʿĀʾishah from this chain.
in مسند أحمد, p. 14536 - Dāraquṭnī
machine translationIt is narrated by al-Aʿmash, and there is disagreement about him. ʿAmr b. Abī Razīn narrated it from al-Thawrī, from al-Aʿmash, from Abū Sufyān, from Jābir, from ʿĀʾishah, while others do not mention ʿĀʾishah, and that is the correct version.
