حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُثَنَّى بْنُ عَوْفٍ الْعَنَزِيُّ بَصْرِيٌّ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنِي الْغَضْبَانُ بْنُ حَنْظَلَةَأَنَّ أَبَاهُ حَنْظَلَةَ بْنَ نُعَيْمٍ وَفَدَ إِلَى عُمَرَ فَكَانَ عُمَرُ إِذَا مَرَّ بِهِ إِنْسَانٌ مِنَ الْوَفْدِ سَأَلَهُ مِمَّنْ هُوَ حَتَّى مَرَّ بِهِ أَبِي فَسَأَلَهُ مِمَّنْ أَنْتَ؟ فَقَالَ مِنْ عَنَزَةَ فَقَالَ

أَنَّ أَبَاهُ حَنْظَلَةَ بْنَ نُعَيْمٍ، وَفَدَ إِلَى عُمَرَ، فَكَانَ عُمَرُ إِذَا مَرَّ بِهِ إِنْسَانٌ مِنَ الْوَفْدِ سَأَلَهُ مِمَّنْ هُوَ حَتَّى مَرَّ بِهِ أَبِي، فَسَأَلَهُ مِمَّنْ أَنْتَ ؟ فَقَالَ: مِنْ عَنَزَةَ، فَقَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: حَيٌّ مِنْ هَاهُنَا مَبْغِيٌّ عَلَيْهِمْ مَنْصُورُونَ.

✧ His father Hanzalah b. Nuaym came as a delegate to Umar. Whenever a person from the delegation passed by Umar, he asked him which tribe he was from, until my father passed by him and he asked him: From whom are you? He said: From Anazah. He said: I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: A tribe from here is oppressed but supported.
