حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُخْتَارُ بْنُ فُلْفُلٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَاةً، فَأَقْبَلَ عَلَيْنَا بِوَجْهِهِ، فَقَالَ: إِنِّي إِمَامُكُمْ، فَلَا تَسْبِقُونِي بِالرُّكُوعِ وَلَا بِالسُّجُودِ وَلَا بِالْقِيَامِ، فَإِنِّي أَرَاكُمْ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيَّ وَمِنْ خَلْفِي، قَالَ: ثُمَّ قَالَ: وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ، لَوْ رَأَيْتُمْ مَا رَأَيْتُ لَضَحِكْتُمْ قَلِيلًا وَلَبَكَيْتُمْ كَثِيرًا، قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، وَمَا رَأَيْتَ؟ قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ الْجَنَّةَ وَالنَّارَ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed a prayer, then turned his face toward us and said, “I am your imam, so do not precede me in bowing, prostrating, or standing, for I see you from in front of me and from behind me.” He said: Then he said, “By the One in whose hand is my soul, if you saw what I saw, you would laugh little and weep much.” They said, “O Messenger of Allah, what did you see?” He said, “I saw Paradise and Hell.”
