حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنِي طَلْحَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ طَلْحَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ
أَنَّ نَفَرًا مِنْ بَنِي عُذْرَةَ ثَلَاثَةً أَتَوُا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ، فَأَسْلَمُوا، قَالَ: فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: مَنْ يَكْفِنِيهِمْ؟ قَالَ طَلْحَةُ: أَنَا. قَالَ: فَكَانُوا عِنْدَ طَلْحَةَ، فَبَعَثَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بَعْثًا، فَخَرَجَ فِيهِ أَحَدُهُمْ، فَاسْتُشْهِدَ. قَالَ: ثُمَّ بَعَثَ بَعْثًا، فَخَرَجَ فِيهِ آخَرُ، فَاسْتُشْهِدَ، قَالَ: ثُمَّ مَاتَ الثَّالِثُ عَلَى فِرَاشِهِ. قَالَ طَلْحَةُ: فَرَأَيْتُ هَؤُلَاءِ الثَّلَاثَةَ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا عِنْدِي فِي الْجَنَّةِ، فَرَأَيْتُ الْمَيِّتَ عَلَى فِرَاشِهِ أَمَامَهُمْ، وَرَأَيْتُ الَّذِي اسْتُشْهِدَ أَخِيرًا يَلِيهِ، وَرَأَيْتُ الَّذِي اسْتُشْهِدَ أَوَّلَهُمْ آخِرَهُمْ. قَالَ: فَدَخَلَنِي مِنْ ذَلِكَ. قَالَ: فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ، فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ. قَالَ: فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: وَمَا أَنْكَرْتَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ لَيْسَ أَحَدٌ أَفْضَلَ عِنْدَ اللهِ مِنْ مُؤْمِنٍ يُعَمَّرُ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ لِتَسْبِيحِهِ وَتَكْبِيرِهِ وَتَهْلِيلِهِ.

✧ A group of three men from Banu 'Udhrah came to the Prophet ﷺ and became Muslims. The Prophet ﷺ said: Who will take care of them? Talhah said: I will. They stayed with Talhah. The Prophet ﷺ sent out an expedition, and one of them went out in it and was martyred. Then he sent another expedition, and another of them went out and was martyred. Then the third died in his bed. Talhah said: I saw those three who had been with me in Paradise. I saw the one who died in his bed ahead of them, and the one who was martyred last next, and the one who was martyred first last. That troubled me, so I went to the Prophet ﷺ and mentioned that to him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: What do you find strange about that? No one is more virtuous before Allah than a believer who lives long in Islam for his glorifying, magnifying, and declaring Allah's oneness.
