✧ Umar saw Talhah b. 'Ubaydullah looking troubled and said: 'What is the matter with you, O Abu so-and-so? Perhaps the leadership of your cousin has upset you, O Abu so-and-so?' He said: 'No, except that I heard a hadith from the Messenger of God ﷺ, and what prevented me from asking him about it was only that he was able to answer, until he died. I heard him say: 'I know a word that no servant says at his death but that his color brightens for it, and God relieves him of his distress.'' He said: Then Umar said: 'I know what it is.' He said: 'What is it?' He said: 'Do you know a word greater than the one he commanded his uncle at death: There is no god but God?' Talhah said: 'You have spoken the truth. By God, it is that.'

machine translationThe best of them in chain of transmission is the ḥadīth of ʿAlī b. Mushir and those who followed him, from Muṭarrif, from al-Shaʿbī, from Yaḥyā b. Ṭalḥah, from his father, and God knows best. The ḥadīth of Misʿar, from Ismāʿīl b. Abī Khālid, is also good (ḥasan) in its chain. If it is preserved (maḥfūẓ), then Yaḥyā b. Ṭalḥah memorized it from his father, from his mother, and God knows best.
