✧ We were with Talhah b. 'Ubaydullah while we were in a state of ihram. A bird was gifted to us while Talhah was sleeping. Some of us ate, and some of us were cautious and did not eat. When Talhah woke up, he agreed with those who ate it and said: 'We ate it with the Messenger of God ﷺ.'

machine translationMuḥammad b. al-Munkadir narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. Ibn Jurayj narrated it from Muḥammad b. al-Munkadir, from Muʿādh b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. ʿUthmān, from his father, from Ṭalḥah, and Rabīʿah b. ʿUmar corroborated him from Ibn al-Munkadir. Fulayḥ b. Sulaymān narrated it from Ibn al-Munkadir, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. ʿUthmān, from Ṭalḥah, and he did not mention Muʿādh. Abū Ḥanīfah narrated it from Ibn al-Munkadir, from ʿUthmān b. Muḥammad, from Ṭalḥah. Al-Thawrī narrated it from Ibn al-Munkadir, from a shaykh whom he did not name, from Ṭalḥah. The correct version is the hadith of Ibn Jurayj, for he preserved its chain of transmission.
