حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ

لَمَّا كَانَ الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي قَدِمَ فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْمَدِينَةَ أَضَاءَ مِنْهَا كُلُّ شَيْءٍ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ أَظْلَمَ مِنْهَا كُلُّ شَيْءٍ، وَقَالَ: مَا نَفَضْنَا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الْأَيْدِيَ حَتَّى أَنْكَرْنَا قُلُوبَنَا

Translation

✧ On the day the Messenger of God ﷺ arrived in Madinah, everything in it was illuminated. On the day he died, everything in it became dark." He said: "We had not withdrawn our hands from the Messenger of God ﷺ before we found our hearts changed."
