حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ثَابِتٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَادَ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ، فَقَالَ: يَا خَالُ، قُلْ: لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ، قَالَ: خَالٌ أَمْ عَمٌّ؟ قَالَ: بَلْ خَالٌ، قَالَ: وَخَيْرٌ لِي أَنْ أَقُولَهَا؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned a man from the Ansar and said, "O uncle, say there is no god but Allah." The man replied, "Is it uncle or maternal uncle?" The Prophet replied, "No, it is uncle." The man then asked, "And is it better for me to say it?" The Prophet replied, "Yes."
