حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ أَبَا طَلْحَةَ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ، فَقَالَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ: مَاذَا تَرَى؟ نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ، قَالَ: إِنَّ اللهَ [عَزَّ وَجَلَّ] قَالَ: لَنْ تَنَالُوا الْبِرَّ حَتَّى تُنْفِقُوا مِمَّا تُحِبُّونَ وَإِنَّهُ لَيْسَ لِي مَالٌ أَحَبَّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَرْضِي بَيْرَحَاءَ، وَإِنِّي أَتَقَرَّبُ بِهَا إِلَى اللهِ [عَزَّ وَجَلَّ]. قَالَ: فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: بَخٍ بَخٍ، بَيْرَحَاءُ خَيْرٌ رَابِحٌ، فَقَسَمَهَا بَيْنَهُمْ حَدَائِقَ

Translation

✧ Abu Talhah came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was on the minbar and said to the Prophet ﷺ: "What do you think? This verse has been revealed." He said: "Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has said: 'You will not attain righteousness until you spend from what you love.' I have no property dearer to me than my land of Bayraha', and I seek to draw near to Allah, Mighty and Majestic, with it." He said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Excellent! Excellent! Bayraha' is a profitable good.' So he divided it among them as gardens."
