حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ثَابِتٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ
يَا مَعْشَرَ الْأَنْصَارِ، أَلَمْ آتِكُمْ ضُلَّالًا فَهَدَاكُمُ اللهُ بِي ؟ ! وَأَعْدَاءً فَأَلَّفَ اللهُ [عَزَّ وَجَلَّ] بَيْنَ قُلُوبِكُمْ بِي ؟ ! ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُمْ: أَلَا تَقُولُونَ: أَتَيْتَنَا طَرِيدًا فَآوَيْنَاكَ، وَخَائِفًا فَأَمَّنَّاكَ، وَمَخْذُولًا فَنَصَرْنَاكَ؟ فَقَالُوا: بَلْ لِلهِ الْمَنُّ عَلَيْنَا وَلِرَسُولِهِ
Translation

✧ O assembly of the Ansar, did I not come to you when you were astray and God guided you through me? And enemies, and God [Mighty and Majestic] brought your hearts together through me? Then he said to them: 'Will you not say: You came to us as a fugitive and we sheltered you; fearful and we gave you safety; forsaken and we aided you?' They said: 'Rather, to God and His Messenger belongs the favor upon us.'
