✧ The site of the mosque of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ belonged to the Banu al-Najjar. It contained farmland, palm trees, and the graves of the polytheists. He said: "O Banu al-Najjar, sell it to me." They said: "We will seek no price for it except from Allah." He said: So he cut down the palm trees, leveled the farmland, and dug up the graves of the polytheists. He said: Before the mosque was built, the Prophet of Allah ﷺ used to pray wherever the prayer overtook him, even in sheep pens. And while they were carrying rocks to build the mosque, the Prophet ﷺ used to say: "O Allah, the only good is the good of the Hereafter, so forgive the Ansar and the Muhajirun."
