حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ
انْطَلَقَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَمَعَهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقُ، وَعُمَرُ وَأُنَاسٌ مِنَ الْأَعْرَابِ، حَتَّى دَخَلَ دَارَنَا فَحَلَبْتُ لَهُ شَاةً وَشُنَّ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ مَاءِ بِئْرِنَا، حَسِبْتُهُ قَالَ: فَشَرِبَ، وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ وَعُمَرُ مُسْتَقْبِلُهُ، وَعَنْ يَمِينِهِ أَعْرَابِيٌّ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَبُو بَكْرٍ فَأَعْطَاهُ الْأَعْرَابِيَّ؛ وَقَالَ: الْأَيْمَنُونَ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ لَنَا أَنَسٌ: فَهِيَ سُنَّةٌ، فَهِيَ سُنَّةٌ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ set out, accompanied by Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, Umar, and some people from the Bedouins, until he entered our house. I milked a sheep for him and water from our well was sprinkled over him. I think he said: He drank, with Abu Bakr on his left and Umar facing him, and a Bedouin on his right. Umar said, "O Messenger of Allah, give it to Abu Bakr." But he gave it to the Bedouin and said, "Those on the right, those on the right." Anas said to us, "So it is a sunnah, so it is a sunnah."
