حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

إِذَا كَانَ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَلَا يَتْفُلْ أَمَامَهُ وَلَا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ فَإِنَّهُ يُنَاجِي رَبَّهُ [عَزَّ وَجَلَّ]، وَلَكِنْ لِيَتْفُلْ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ أَوْ تَحْتَ قَدَمِهِ

Translation

Chain of narrators

  3. Qatādah
  4. Anas b. Mālik

✧ The Prophet ﷺ said, "When one of you is in prayer, he should not spit in front of him or to his right, for he is in private converse with his Lord. Rather, he should spit to his left or underneath his foot."
