✧ Abū Ṭalḥa brought two mudds of barley and ordered that food be prepared from it. Then he said to me, “O Anas, go and invite the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, for you know what we have.” He said: I came to the Prophet ﷺ while his companions were with him and said, “Abū Ṭalḥa invites you to his food.” He stood and said to the people, “Stand up,” so they stood. I walked ahead of him until I entered upon Abū Ṭalḥa and told him. He said, “You have embarrassed us.” I said, “I could not refuse the command of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.” When the Prophet ﷺ reached the door, he said to them, “Sit down,” and entered with ten. When he sat, food was brought. He took some and ate, and the people ate with him until they were full. Then he said to them, “Stand up and let ten enter in your place.” This continued until all the people had entered and eaten. He said: I asked, “How many were they?” He said, “They were over eighty.” He said: And he left for the household what satisfied them.
