حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّىقَالَ سَمِعْتُ ثُمَامَةَ بْنَ أَنَسٍ يَذْكُرُ

أَنَّ أَنَسًا كَانَ إِذَا تَكَلَّمَ تَكَلَّمَ ثَلَاثًا، وَيَذْكُرُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا تَكَلَّمَ تَكَلَّمَ ثَلَاثًا، وَكَانَ يَسْتَأْذِنُ ثَلَاثًا.

Translation

Chain of narrators
  1. Abū Saʿīd a freed slave of Banī Hāshim
  2. ʿAbdullāh b. al-Muthannaqāl
  3. Thumāmah b. Anas Yadhkur

✧ Anas, when he spoke, would speak three times, and he mentioned that the Prophet ﷺ, when he spoke, would speak three times, and he would ask permission three times.
