حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ عَنِ الْمُخْتَارِ بْنِ فُلْفُلٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَوْ رَأَيْتُمْ مَا رَأَيْتُ لَبَكَيْتُمْ كَثِيرًا وَلَضَحِكْتُمْ قَلِيلًا، قَالُوا: وَمَا رَأَيْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ الْجَنَّةَ وَالنَّارَ. وَنَهَاهُمْ أَنْ يَسْبِقُوهُ إِذَا كَانَ يَؤُمُّهُمْ بِالرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِ وَأَنْ يَنْصَرِفُوا قَبْلَ انْصِرَافِهِ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ، قَالَ: إِنِّي أَرَاكُمْ مِنْ أَمَامِي وَمِنْ خَلْفِي

Translation

✧ By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, if you saw what I saw, you would weep much and laugh little. They said: And what did you see, O Messenger of God? He said: I saw Paradise and the Fire. And he forbade them from preceding him in bowing and prostration when he was leading them in prayer, and from departing before he departed from the prayer. He said: Indeed, I see you from in front of me and from behind me.
