حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو حَدَّثَنَا خَارِجَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ مِنْ وَلَدِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ انْصَرَفْنَا مِنَ الظُّهْرِ مَعَ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ فَدَخَلْنَا عَلَى أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ فَقَالَ يَا جَارِيَةُ انْظُرِي هَلْ حَانَتْ؟ قَالَ قَالَتْ
انْصَرَفْنَا مِنَ الظُّهْرِ مَعَ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ فَدَخَلْنَا عَلَى أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، فَقَالَ: يَا جَارِيَةُ، انْظُرِي، هَلْ حَانَتْ ؟ قَالَ: قَالَتْ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: فَقُلْنَا لَهُ: إِنَّمَا انْصَرَفْنَا مِنَ الظُّهْرِ الْآنَ مَعَ الْإِمَامِ. قَالَ: فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى الْعَصْرَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: هَكَذَا كُنَّا نُصَلِّي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ

✧ We finished Dhuhr with Kharijah b. Zayd and entered upon Anas b. Malik. He said: 'O slave girl, look, has the time come?' She said: 'Yes.' We said to him: 'We have just finished Dhuhr with the imam now.' He said: 'Then he stood and prayed 'Asr, then said: 'This is how we used to pray with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.'
