حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي يَزِيدَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُوسَى بْنَ أَنَسٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ
أَنَّ الْأَنْصَارَ اشْتَدَّتْ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّوَانِي، فَأَتَوُا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ لِيَدْعُوَ لَهُمْ، أَوْ يَحْفِرَ لَهُمْ نَهَرًا، فَأُخْبِرَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِذَلِكَ، فَقَالَ: لَا يَسْأَلُونِي الْيَوْمَ شَيْئًا، إِلَّا أُعْطُوهُ، فَأُخْبِرَتِ الْأَنْصَارُ بِذَلِكَ، فَلَمَّا سَمِعُوا مَا قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ، قَالُوا: ادْعُ اللهَ لَنَا بِالْمَغْفِرَةِ، فَقَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْأَنْصَارِ، وَلِأَبْنَاءِ الْأَنْصَارِ، وَلِأَبْنَاءِ أَبْنَاءِ الْأَنْصَارِ
Translation

✧ The Ansar were hard pressed by the watering camels, so they came to the Prophet ﷺ for him to supplicate for them or to dig a canal for them. The Prophet ﷺ was informed of that, and he said: "They will not ask me for anything today but that it will be granted to them." The Ansar were told of that, and when they heard what the Prophet ﷺ said, they said: "Supplicate to God for forgiveness for us." He said: "O God, forgive the Ansar, the sons of the Ansar, and the sons of the sons of the Ansar."
