Musnad Ahmad 13213

Translation

✧ The Companions of the Messenger of God ﷺ came to him one night during Ramadan, and he led them in prayer and kept it short. Then he went inside and prolonged his prayer. Then he came out and led them, then went inside and prolonged his prayer. He did that several times. When morning came, they said: “O Messenger of God, we came to you and you did such and such?” He said: “It was because of you that I did that.”
