✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ had the best character of all people. I had a brother called Abu Umayr — he said: I think he said he was just weaned — and when the Messenger of God ﷺ came and saw him, he would say: “Abu Umayr, what has happened to the little bird?” He said: It was a small bird he used to play with. He said: Sometimes the time for prayer would come while he was in our house, and he would order the mat beneath him to be swept and then sprinkled with water. Then the Messenger of God ﷺ would stand and we would stand behind him, and he would lead us in prayer. He said: Their mat was made of palm fronds.
