حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْوَاسِطِيُّ وَهُوَ الْمُزَنِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُصْعَبُ بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

أُهْدِيَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ تَمْرٌ، فَجَعَلَ يَقْسِمُهُ بِمِكْتَلٍ وَاحِدٍ، وَأَنَا رَسُولُهُ بِهِ حَتَّى فَرَغَ مِنْهُ. قَالَ: فَجَعَلَ يَأْكُلُ وَهُوَ مُقْعِي أَكْلًا ذَرِيعًا، فَعَرَفْتُ فِي أَكْلِهِ الْجُوعَ

Translation

✧ Some dates were gifted to the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he began dividing them with one basket, and I was his messenger with it until he finished. He said: He began eating while squatting, eating quickly, and I recognized hunger in his eating.
