✧ The Prophet ﷺ passed by a date palm tree belonging to the Bani Al-Najjar tribe and heard a sound. He asked, "What is this?" They said, "It is the grave of a man who was buried during the era of ignorance." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If it were not for the fact that you would stop burying your dead, I would have asked Allah to make you hear the punishment of the grave."

  • Dāraquṭnī

machine translationYaḥyā b. Saʿīd and Ibn ʿUlayyah narrate it from Ḥumayd, that he heard it from Anas. Muʿtamir b. Sulaymān narrated it from Ḥumayd, who said: Thābit narrated to me from Anas, or he heard it from Anas. All of these are correct, because Ḥumayd would sometimes doubt it and sometimes not doubt it.
