✧ We had been forbidden in the Quran to ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about anything. He said: And it pleased us when an intelligent man from the desert people would come and ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: A man came and said: “O Muhammad, your messenger came to us and claimed to us that you claim that Allah [Mighty and Majestic] sent you?” He said: “He spoke the truth.” He said: “Then who created the sky?” He said: “Allah.” He said: “Then who created the earth?” He said: “Allah.” He said: “Then who set up these mountains?” He said: “Allah.” He said: “Then by the One who created the sky and created the earth and set up the mountains, did Allah send you?” He said: “Yes.” He said: “And your messenger claimed that we owe five prayers in our day and night?” He said: “He spoke the truth.” He said: “Then by the One who sent you, did Allah command you with this?” He said: “Yes.” He said: “And your messenger claimed that we owe zakat on our wealth.” He said: “He spoke the truth.” He said: “Then by the One who sent you, did Allah command you with this?” He said: “Yes.” He said: “And your messenger claimed that we owe fasting the month of Ramadan in our year.” Affan said: He said: “He spoke the truth.” He said: “Then by the One who sent you, did Allah command you with this?” He said: “Yes.” “And your messenger claimed that we owe the Hajj for whoever can find a way to it.” He said: “He spoke the truth.” He said: “Then by the One who sent you, did Allah command you with this?” He said: “Yes.” Affan said: Then he turned away, then said: “By the One who sent you with the truth, I will not add to them or subtract from them anything.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “If he is truthful, he will surely enter Paradise.”
