حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ حَدَّثَنَا سَلِيمُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مَرْوَانَ الْأَصْغَرَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ عَلِيًّا قَدِمَ مِنَ الْيَمَنِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: بِمَ أَهْلَلْتَ ؟ قَالَ: أَهْلَلْتُ بِمَا أَهَلَّ بِهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ [ ﷺ ]. قَالَ: فَإِنِّي لَوْلَا أَنَّ مَعِيَ الْهَدْيَ لَأَحْلَلْتُ

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ asked, "With what did you perform the Hajj?" The man replied, "I performed Hajj with what the Messenger of Allah performed it with." The Prophet ﷺ said, "If it were not for the fact that I have a sacrificial animal with me, I would have performed Tawaf."
