✧ Itban b. Malik lost his sight and said: O Messenger of God, if only you would come and pray in my home — or he said: in my house — I would take the place where you pray as a mosque. The Prophet ﷺ came to him and prayed in his home — or he said: in his house — and Itban’s people gathered around the Prophet ﷺ. They mentioned Malik b. al-Dukhshum and said: O Messenger of God, he is such and such, insinuating hypocrisy. The Prophet ﷺ said: Does he not testify that there is no god but God and that I am the Messenger of God? They said: Yes. He said: By the One in whose hand is my soul, no servant says it truthfully but that the Fire is forbidden to him.
