حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدٌ يَعْنِي الْمَقْبُرِيَّ عَنْ شَرِيكِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي نَمِرٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَامَ فَحَذَّرَ النَّاسَ، فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ: مَتَى السَّاعَةُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ؟ فَبَسَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي وَجْهِهِ، فَقُلْنَا لَهُ: اقْعُدْ؛ فَإِنَّكَ قَدْ سَأَلْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ مَا يَكْرَهُ [قَالَ]، ثُمَّ قَامَ الثَّانِيَةَ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، مَتَى السَّاعَةُ ؟ قَالَ: فَبَسَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي وَجْهِهِ أَشَدَّ مِنَ الْأُولَى، قَالَ: فَأَجْلَسْنَاهُ، قَالَ: ثُمَّ قَامَ الثَّالِثَةَ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، مَتَى السَّاعَةُ ؟ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: وَيْحَكَ، وَمَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا ؟ قَالَ: أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا حُبَّ اللهِ وَرَسُولِهِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: اجْلِسْ؛ فَإِنَّكَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up and warned the people. A man stood up and said: When is the Hour, O Messenger of Allah? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ frowned at him. We said to him: Sit down, for you have asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ what he dislikes. Then he stood up a second time and said: O Messenger of Allah, when is the Hour? He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ frowned at him more severely than the first time. He said: We made him sit down. He said: Then he stood up a third time and said: O Messenger of Allah, when is the Hour? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: Woe to you, what have you prepared for it? He said: I have prepared for it love of Allah and His Messenger. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: Sit down, for you are with those whom you love.
