حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ خَيْثَمَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ
دَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَلَى زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ يَعُودُهُ وَهُوَ يَشْكُو عَيْنَيْهِ. قَالَ: كَيْفَ أَنْتَ ؟ لَوْ كَانَتْ عَيْنُكَ لِمَا بِهَا ؟ قَالَ: إِذًا أَصْبِرَ وَأَحْتَسِبُ. قَالَ: لَوْ كَانَتْ عَيْنُكَ لِمَا بِهَا لَلَقِيتَ اللهَ [عَزَّ وَجَلَّ] عَلَى غَيْرِ ذَنْبٍ

✧ The Prophet ﷺ entered upon Zayd b. Arqam to visit him while he was complaining about his eyes. He said: How are you? What if your eye were as it is? He said: Then I would be patient and seek reward. He said: If your eye were as it is, you would meet God [Mighty and Majestic] without any sin.
