✧ I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey pray the forenoon voluntary prayer, eight rak'ahs. When he finished he said: I have prayed a prayer of desire and fear. I asked my Lord [mighty and majestic] for three things, and He gave me two and withheld one. I asked Him not to afflict my community with barren years, and He did that. I asked Him not to let their enemy overpower them, and He did that. I asked Him not to make them into factions, and He refused me.
